ISLC is led by its founder Alisha Patil. Driven by her passion for psychology, science and inclusive environments, Alisha is a dynamic 10th-grade student currently studying at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. She often merges her academic interests with her genuine commitment towards social impact as is evidenced by her leadership in founding the Indian Sign Language Community. Apart from pursuing interests like public speaking, visual arts and drama, Alisha also has extensive experience in psychology and mental health via her participation at Brown University’s “Mind, Brain, and Behavior” course, work on educational methodologies through her personal blog and dedicated volunteer work. All of this adds to her diverse knowledge and skill set and fuels her desire to bridge gaps in communication and empower individuals by paving the way to a more accepting, inclusive and empathetic society.
